i feel like i’m doing the danwray history tour at keeneland.  last weekend i was on handheld camera in the paddock, my first ever job at the track, and today i found myself in the back gap camera tower, my second ever job.  its fun to revisit the old spots though, and since i’m working another job full time now at the cave, i’m just happy to be able come back and do anything with my keeneland crew.

so i was sitting in my living room this afternoon when i hear what sounds like a helicopter flying about 100 feet above my house. when i run outside to see whats up i realize thats exactly what it is.  i grabbed the camera and snagged a couple pics when it came back over, and upon further review (and a google search of the aircraft id) it looks as though this is the original magnum P.I. helicopter from the tv show, now re-purposed as a power line inspection flight.  dont see that every day…

a clear night in kentucky.

came back to ohio for the homecoming game on one of the coldest nights of the season so far.  we only made it to half-time before we were forced to flee to the warmth of the car.  it was a good game though, we won in overtime.

come on.  he’s just showing off now.  i used to be able to fall asleep like that, when i was about his age.

i dont know the story behind this one.  i kind of want to be creeped out by it.  but honestly, i think its pretty cool.

i love it when the clouds look like this.  like a dusting of snow blowing around on an icy blue lake.

perhaps not really the last quite yet, but the weather is taking a decidedly more mild turn which is just fine by me.

me and brown went for a little photogenic hike up to the tracks tonight.  we were hoping to see a train, but after a while without one we decided to come back in, as only one of us had remembered to wear a coat.
